📜 About & history
Taizijie West Grand Mosque in Mazang Village, Chengguan Town, Hezheng County, was founded in 1906 (32nd year of the Qing Guangxu era) by Ma Yingxian, a follower of the Xidaotang order, first as a prayer room in his home. It moved to the centre of Taizijie in 1944 and a hall with a rolled-roof porch was completed in 1948. Closed in 1958 and later demolished, it was rebuilt in 1981 under Min Shengguang, fifth leader of the Xidaotang. The 300-square-metre prayer hall, flanked by hexagonal minarets and decorated with carved brick and Qur'anic couplets, holds more than 450 worshippers.
