Suixian Inner-City Mosque

睢县城内清真寺
📍 Shangqiu · Sui County 🏛️ Zhengtong era, Ming dynasty (1436-1449)

📜 About & history

Suixian Inner-City Mosque, also called Ximenli Mosque, stands in the southeast part of Ximenli Village beside the Minquan-Taikang road. Founded in the Ming Zhengtong era (1436-1449), it faces west. A major rebuilding in 1873 produced a 21-bay hall, a moon-watching tower and a women's mosque; war damage followed, with partial repairs in 1953 and 1958 and rebuilding in the 1980s. After 2000 an Arab-style prayer hall and a teaching building were added, bringing the floor area to 1,962 square metres; Qing carved-brick work survives.
