Songmaopo Mosque is in Pingyuan Town, Yanshan County, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan. Songmaopo village was formed in 1970 by Hui families who moved from Tianxin and Maolong villages and now has more than 280 households. Its first mosque, holding 150 people, was built in 1975; after 1978 it was gradually enlarged with an 80,000-yuan government grant and community donations into a 6-mu complex of 64 rooms, including a Chinese-Western prayer hall for 700 worshippers, a minaret and a women's prayer hall, at a total cost of 500,000 yuan.
