📜 About & history

Shichahai Mosque was founded in the Qianlong era of the Qing dynasty by Ma Liang, who had moved to Beijing from En County, Shandong; his descendants later served as its clergy. It was enlarged and rebuilt in 1830. From 1916 to 1918 Imam Wang Jingzhai served here and raised funds to rebuild the south lecture hall.
