📜 About & history
The Shangxiyuan Grand Mosque serves the Hui Muslim community of the Xiyuan (West Garden) area in Qilihe District, one of Lanzhou's main Muslim neighbourhoods on the south side of the Yellow River. It stands at the junction of Shangxiyuan and Jiangouyan streets, beside the Mingren Huayuan residential compound. The mosque is a focus of daily worship and community life for the surrounding families and small traders. It is registered as an Islamic activity venue in Qilihe District.
🕌 Prayer & visiting
Five daily prayers and Friday Jumu'ah (midday) are held; wudu facilities are available. Dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered; headscarf for women) and remove shoes before entering. Please be respectful and quiet, especially during prayer.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
- Line 1 Qilihe （七里河站）
Take a bus to the Xiyuan / Shangxiyuan (西园／上西园) area in Qilihe District and walk to the Shangxiyuan–Jiangouyan junction.
From the Xiaoxihu / Qilihe Muslim district it is a short taxi or walk south into the Xiyuan (West Garden) neighbourhood.
About 4–5 km southwest of the centre; take Metro Line 1 to Qilihe and continue by taxi or on foot into the Xiyuan neighbourhood, or a 15–20 minute taxi ride.
