📜 About & history

Rizhe Mosque, also called Songwuli Mosque, is in Rizhe Township, Qiubei County, Yunnan. It covers 2.3 mu; its earth-and-timber prayer hall measures 200 square metres and the whole complex 600 square metres. Belonging to the Qadim school, it serves 378 Hui households (1,748 people). In the Qing Xianfeng era it moved to Hebian Village after the "Bingchen Incident" and was housed in thatched buildings; the present buildings date from a 1909 rebuilding. It keeps copies of the Qur'an, an 18th-century manuscript Qur'an commentary and three Republican-era plaques, including one inscribed by Bai Chongxi in 1944.
