📍 Huai'an · Qingjiangpu District 🏛️ Ming dynasty

📜 About & history

Qingjiang Mosque on Yuehe Street, Qingjiangpu District, stands by the imperial wharf of the old Grand Canal. It was founded in the Ming dynasty, destroyed in fighting with the Nian rebels in 1860 and rebuilt in 1870 (9th year of the Qing Tongzhi era). The prayer hall, the Butterfly Hall and two Qing-era steles recording its rebuilding survive. It became a Huai'an municipal protected site in March 2003 and, as a component of the "Grand Canal", a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level (6th batch) in 2006.
