Najiaying Mosque serves the famous Hui town of Nagu on the shore of Qilu Lake, whose Na-surnamed residents trace descent from the Sayyid Ajall family that governed Yunnan in the Yuan dynasty. Accounts of its founding vary from the 13th century to Ming Hongwu 3 (1370), when local Hui first built a mosque together. The present building, completed in 2004, has a floor area of about 10,000 square metres and, following the hillside, rises in five tiers; its second-floor grand prayer hall holds more than 3,000 worshippers. It was listed as a Tonghai County protected cultural site in June 2018.

Reached by local bus or taxi from Tonghai county town to Nagu Town; ask for Najiaying Village.
Nagu is a long-established Hui trading town with many halal eateries and Muslim-run businesses, comfortable for Arabic-speaking visitors.
About 15-20 minutes by car north of Tonghai county town along the shore of Qilu Lake.
