📜 About & history
Mochuan Grand Mosque, also called Hanjiaji Lower Mosque, was founded in the Ming dynasty on Yangwa Hill north-east of Hanjiaji, roofed with wooden boards instead of tiles and so known as the "Board Mosque". In the early Qing it moved to Mochuan and was called the Rain-Prayer Mosque, and in 1880 it was renamed Haiyi Mosque. A 1917 stele composed by Ma Fuxiang recording the mosque's history survives intact.
