📜 About & history
The Mengzhou Upper Mosque was built in 1819 under the Jiaqing Emperor inside the eastern Sangpo village, originally with a prayer hall, two lecture halls and ablution facilities in 56 rooms. Burned in 1943 amid wartime chaos, it was rebuilt with village donations. Sangpo is a noted Hui leather-and-fur manufacturing centre.
