The Macau Mosque and Cemetery was established by Muslims who arrived with Portuguese forces, having originally been recruited from South Asia. The complex includes a Muslim cemetery with some graves dating back centuries, and renovation work was carried out in late 2007 to accommodate a growing Muslim population.
