📜 About & history
Luokou Mosque is on Luo'an Road, Tianqiao District, Jinan, and occupies 1,254 square metres (about 2.3 mu). Steles in the mosque dated 1513 (Ming Zhengde era) and from the Qing Xianfeng era attest to its long history. The original mosque stood in Beiluokou Village on the north bank of the Yellow River and comprised east and west mosques, the east one destroyed in the Cultural Revolution; abandoned in 1976 because of Yellow River floods and flood-detention works, it was replaced by the present mosque on the south bank, opened in 1995. The new brick-and-concrete mosque mixes Chinese and Arab styles under glazed-tile roofs, with a prayer hall, north and south lecture halls, a separate women's prayer hall, and the tomb of Li Baba. Its congregation numbers 396 households (1,600 people).
