Lianhuatang Mosque, at 28 Honggou Road in Shadian Town, Gejiu, was built in 1981 as part of the restoration of local Hui places of worship in the early reform era, alongside the Shadian and Jinjizhai mosques. In 2010 the Honghe prefectural authorities named it a "safe place of religious activity" - one of the first 14 of the 25 sites in Gejiu taking part in the scheme. The mosque runs a zakat system to relieve the needy.
