Kargilinka Mosque lies in the western suburb of Lhasa, Tibet, and dates to the 17th century. By tradition, a Muslim imam from Kashmir sought shelter from the Fifth Dalai Lama, who granted land measured by arrows shot in four directions. Two mosques now stand on the grounds only metres apart, with an adjacent Muslim cemetery holding 23 preserved tombstones from the Qing dynasty onward.
