📜 About & history
Jiedi Mosque, in Jiedi Hui Township of Cang County, was founded in the late Ming dynasty; its main hall was rebuilt in 1929 as a brick-and-timber structure 25 m long and 15 m wide under linked roofs. Japanese forces damaged it; it was repaired in 1938, damaged again in the Cultural Revolution and restored with Muslim donations in 1981. In 1937 the Japanese army committed the Jiedi Massacre here, and in 2007 Chen Guangyuan, president of the China Islamic Association, inscribed the title of its memorial stele. It is in Cangzhou's first batch of key protected sites.
