📜 About & history
Huaiqing Mosque stands on the south side of Renmin West Road in Chuanhui District. It was begun in the Qing Kangxi era by Hui merchants from Huaiqing Prefecture north of the Yellow River, first completed in 1805 and enlarged in the Tongzhi era with a gateway, prayer hall and north and south lecture halls. The Zhiyuan School operated here in the Republican era until 1937, and the site was later occupied by a factory. After religious activity resumed in 1994, the main hall and moon-watching tower were rebuilt and an Arab-style ablution house added.
