📜 About & history
One of the best-preserved historic mosques in Qinghai and the wider northwest, first built in the Ming dynasty and enlarged to its present scale under the Qing Qianlong emperor. It is famed for a Han-style palace layout fused with Tibetan and Islamic elements and for exquisite brick and wood carving. It was listed as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit on 5 March 2013.

No public transport to the village; reach it by taxi or private car.
Most Arab visitors base in Xining near Dongguan Grand Mosque; hire a car there for the day trip southeast to Ping'an.
About 30 km from Xining and roughly 40 km southeast of Ping'an town; drive via the Ping'an–Hongshuiquan county road, about 1 hour by car.
A remote mountain-village mosque prized for its carving artistry; bring water and go with a driver. Halal food available in Ping'an town.
