📜 About & history
Hongguanying Mosque was founded in the Ming dynasty and was one of the eight famous mosques on the west bank of the Wei Canal around Linqing in Ming–Qing times. Its 1,620 square metres of buildings include a prayer hall and a moon-watching tower famed for its tightly packed spiralling square rafters assembled without nails or pegs; a plaque reading "Kaitian gujiao" by Liu Yong hangs inside. Burned in 1854 and rebuilt in 1874, it was fully restored in 1981; its present layout dates from the 1983 repairs.
