📍 Guangzhou · Yuexiu District 🏛️ Ming dynasty, c. 1465–1487

📜 About & history

Haopan (Moat-side) Street Mosque was built during the Chenghua reign of the Ming dynasty (c. 1465–1487) and has more than 500 years of history; it stands on Haopan Street, once a prosperous waterside quarter of old Guangzhou. Covering over 1,490 m², its main hall faces east under a double-eaved gable-and-hip roof in the southern Lingnan style, with finely worked timber framing. Historically it ran an Arabic college, an orphanage and a home for the elderly. It is a Guangzhou municipal cultural relic protection unit and reopened after restoration in 1998.
