📜 About & history
The Guyuan Grand Mosque is the principal mosque of Guyuan, a historic Silk Road town in southern Ningxia. Its congregation dates to the Ming dynasty and was reinforced by Hui settlers from Gansu; the mosque has been repaired and enlarged many times. Guyuan and its surrounding counties contain hundreds of mosques and Sufi gongbei, giving the region a strongly Muslim character.

Guyuan city buses serve the old-town centre where the mosque stands.
No dedicated Arab trader hub; reach it from Guyuan bus station or the city centre.
In the old-town core of Yuanzhou District; walkable from the centre or a short taxi ride.
Plentiful halal restaurants in the old town. Chinese is spoken; the surrounding region is overwhelmingly Hui.
