📜 About & history

Gadingjia Mosque in Gadingjia Village, Nanlong Township, Linxia City, was founded in 1620 (1st year of the Ming Taichang era), originally with a richly carved and painted hall and a two-storey wooden call-to-prayer tower. Burned in 1928, it was restored and enlarged in 1931; the complex was demolished in 1968 and rebuilt again in 1978. Today it covers 2.1 mu, with a hip-roofed prayer hall (374 square metres), a three-storey classical minaret and a two-storey brick-and-timber school, 714 square metres in all. Surrounded by pines and cypresses beside the Lanzhou-Langmusi road, it draws more than 300 worshippers for daily prayers.
