📜 About & history
According to steles preserved in the mosque, it was founded in 705 CE (first year of the Tang Shenlong era), making it one of the oldest mosques in Xi'an. Because it lies west of the Huajue Lane Great Mosque it is popularly called the 'Great West Mosque' (Xidasi). Over the centuries it was renamed several times, receiving the name 'Qingzhensi' (Pure and True Temple) in the early Ming Hongwu period. The present complex — screen wall, stone archway, Xingxin Pavilion, stele pavilions and prayer hall — was listed among China's national key cultural relic protection units in 2013.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
- Line 2 Bell Tower （钟楼）
- Line 1 Sajinqiao （洒金桥）
Take a city bus to the Qiaozikou (桥梓口) or Bell Tower (钟楼) stop, then walk into the Muslim Quarter.
It sits inside the Muslim Quarter (Huifang) itself — easily walkable within the 回坊, just west of the Huajue Lane Great Mosque.
From the Bell Tower walk northwest through the Beiyuanmen bazaar into the Muslim Quarter; the mosque is about a 10-minute walk down Daxuexi Alley.
