Daqi Mosque

清真大祁寺
📍 Linxia · Bafang Subdistrict

📜 About & history

Daqi Mosque is one of the eight historic teaching-ward mosques of the Bafang quarter, its congregation forming the Qisi ward. It is among the cluster of mosques, most dating in origin from the Yuan through early Qing periods, around which the 'live around the mosque, trade around the ward' Muslim community of Bafang grew. Like its neighbours it combines Chinese classical timber architecture with Hui-Islamic brick and wood carving. It stands within the Bafang Shisan Xiang historic lanes.
