党西清真寺
📍 Jinan · Shizhong District 🏛️ c. 1330

📜 About & history

Dangxi Mosque in Dangjia Subdistrict, Shizhong District, Jinan, was founded around 1330 in the late Yuan dynasty, burned in 1357, rebuilt in Ming palace style in 1397 and extensively repaired in the Wanli era. Its main surviving structures, including the prayer hall and north and south lecture halls (about 500 square metres in all), are Ming rebuildings, and it became a Jinan municipal key protected site in 1995. A beam from the rear hall smashed by Japanese shelling in 1928 is still kept in the prayer hall. A women's mosque was added in 2001.
