📜 About & history

Chici Libai Mosque ("Imperially Bestowed Mosque") is on Wang Street, Suning Town, Suning County, Hebei. Founded in the Ming dynasty and facing east, it was built under a Hui imperial cook surnamed Li from Nanlijiazhuang. In 1749 (14th year of the Qing Qianlong era) Ha Panlong, rewarded for his part in pacifying Greater Jinchuan, received imperial funds to enlarge it with 25 rooms, including a prayer hall and lecture hall, and a gilded plaque; the site measured 3.94 mu. The rear hall carries an imperially granted glazed-tile roof finial, and the front hall once displayed four plaques given by Ha Panlong, Ha Panfeng, Ha Guoxing and Prince Chun. Repaired in 1951 and damaged in the Cultural Revolution, it was rebuilt in 1987–1988 with more than 50,000 yuan from the State Administration for Religious Affairs and other bodies plus public donations. In 2021 its rear hall was listed as a historic building.
