📜 About & history
Chengqingfang Mosque, also called Changjiang Road Mosque, stands at 30 Changjiang Road in Luhe District and is a Nanjing municipal protected site. Founded in 1424 (22nd year of the Ming Yongle era), it was destroyed in war in 1858, rebuilt in 1879 and repaired in 1899, 1903 and 2006. It is a courtyard complex whose main Yonglong Hall faces east, built in the traditional carpentry of the Taihu basin; an old cypress 9.7 m tall stands before it, and a moon-watching tower to the east was used to fix the fasting dates. Japanese troops occupied it during the War of Resistance.
