📜 About & history
Changsha Mosque was founded in 1711 by Muslim merchants from Shanxi, Henan and Shaanxi who pooled funds, and was originally known as a 'guest mosque'. In 1918 Nanjing merchants opened an Islamic school beside it. The buildings were destroyed in the great Changsha 'Wenxi' fire of 1938 and later rebuilt. In 1985 the government funded a new mosque of about 1,500 m² in Arab dome style, built above the historic Baisha Ancient Well; it remains the centre of worship and the three major festivals for Changsha's Muslims.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
- Line 1 Nanmenkou （南门口）
Reachable via the Nanmenkou / Huangxing South Road pedestrian street area; alight near Nanmenkou and walk toward the Baisha Well.
About 20–30 min by metro (Line 4 then Line 1) or taxi from Changsha South Railway Station.
Central, in the Nanmenkou area just south of the Huangxing Road pedestrian street; a few minutes' walk from Nanmenkou metro.
Look for it beside the Baisha Ancient Well; the site also has a Han-Hui folk culture hall. Taxi phrase: 请带我去长沙清真寺（三兴街）
