Baoding West Mosque was founded in 1616 (the Wanli era of the Ming dynasty) and is the largest and oldest of the mosques in Baoding's old city. It faces east, and its main gate bears a white-marble plaque inscribed 「清真寺」. The mosque underwent a full restoration with government support in 1987 and was listed as a Baoding municipal protected cultural relic in 1984. It remains the principal mosque of the city's Hui community, anchoring the historic Qingzhensi (Mosque) Street quarter.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
Reachable by Baoding city buses to the old-city Qingzhensi Street area; alight nearby and walk into the Hui quarter.
In central Baoding, ask for Qingzhensi Street; the West Mosque is the main community mosque and the surrounding Hui quarter has halal food. Baoding is about 1.5 hours from Beijing by rail.
The mosque is in the old core of Lianchi District on Qingzhensi Street, a short taxi or bus ride from Baoding's city centre and the Zhili Governor's Mansion area.
