📜 About & history

Baiji Mosque is a historic mosque in Baiji Village, Zhangfang Township, Shanghe County, Jinan, Shandong. Founded in the Wanli era of the Ming dynasty, it covers about 4,700 m². The prayer hall stands atop more than twenty steps with pavilion-style moon-watching towers at its four corners; its interior of about 500 m² holds several hundred worshippers. According to tradition a Hui family named Bai moved here from Zaoqiang County, Hebei, in the mid-Qing, and the village grew around them. Repaired many times, the mosque was rebuilt on a new site in 2003 in classical style; it is near Provincial Road 248 and the Shang–Huai road.
