The world's swimwear capital: the city makes over a quarter of global swimwear and more than 40 per cent of the Chinese market, and it is said that 99 out of every 100 swimsuits sold in Russia come from here. Being at the factories makes small orders and bespoke design possible, and workshops produce modest swimwear and burkinis for Muslim markets. The North-East Asia International Swimwear Expo is held here each July

💡 Tips for traders
The best time to buy is March to July, before the peak season; take samples to check the lycra/spandex content and resistance to chlorine and fading; discuss minimum order quantity, as many workshops accept 100-300 pieces per design; ask specifically for modest swimwear or burkinis, which are an established line; the city is on the high-speed line from Beijing and Shenyang
