A specialist lighting market at 125 Liuying Road in Hongkou District, opened in December 1995 and run by Shanghai Mingguang Lighting Co. More than 250 dealers, including brands such as Philips and Opple, offer tens of thousands of lamps, light sources, electrical goods and fittings. In 2013 it became China's first lighting-industry service park, and in 2016 it was named a direct-sales base for Guzhen, the 'lighting capital', which suits buyers sourcing lighting for hotels, shops and projects.
