A large hardware trading cluster in Waigang Town, Jiading District, near Shanghai's border with Jiangsu, developed by Shanghai Hardware Trade City Co. and completed in 2005 ahead of the 2006 World Hardware Congress. It has about 1.5 million m² of floor space with 1,400 shop units, an international exhibition centre and more than 2,700 merchants, combining trading, warehousing, logistics and R&D. It is one of the Yangtze River Delta's main hardware distribution points, which suits wholesale buyers of tools and hardware.
