Much of the cheap "Tibetan silver" sold at street stalls is not real silver and can cause skin irritation; for genuine pieces, buy from larger, established shops at higher prices (typically ¥200-300+) rather than mobile vendors; higher-priced turquoise and amber require real expertise to judge, so avoid large purchases without a specialist
