One of China's first eight approved Chinese-herbal-medicine markets, built by Chongqing Chinese Medicinal Materials Co. on Jiefang Road in the city centre and opened in January 1994. It occupies a seven-storey indoor building with 10,000 m² of floor space, holding about 200 traders and 400 stalls. Specialities include coptis, bitter orange and phellodendron from producing areas such as Wanzhou and Shizhu, which suits herb traders and pharmacies.
