A specialist timber wholesale market converted in 2001 from the Yuzhu timber mill founded in 1952, covering about 830,000 m² with 450,000 m² of shop space and 600+ traders. It deals in logs, sawn timber and wood-based panels; in 2011 it traded over 4 million m³ worth RMB 10 billion. It created the 'Yuzhu China Timber Price Index', recognised as a national index in 2012, and suits timber importers and building-materials traders.
