A famous department store opened on 6 May 1989 beside Erqi Square in Zhengzhou, known for its advertising slogan and the 'Central Plains retail war' of the early 1990s; it went bankrupt in September 2000. The building was put on Zhengzhou's first list of protected historic buildings in 2018, and the site reopened on 6 August 2023 as 'Yaxiya Zhuoyue City', themed on trendy play and dining.
