📜 The law text / key provisions
The Work Safety Law (2021 Amendment) provides: (1) Core obligations: enterprises must appoint a safety officer, conduct risk assessments, and train workers; (2) Worker rights: refuse dangerous work without penalty, report incidents, compensation for injuries; (3) Safety incidents: classified by severity and subject to specific investigation and reporting procedures; (4) Enhanced penalties: doubled fines in 2021 amendment, up to RMB 10 million for serious violations; (5) Criminal liability: managers may face criminal prosecution in cases of serious accidents.
