📜 The law text / key provisions

Social Insurance Law (2010): foreigners legally working in China are obligated to contribute to: (1) pension insurance; (2) medical insurance; (3) unemployment insurance; (4) work injury insurance; (5) maternity insurance. The system works through shared contributions between employer and employee. When a foreigner permanently leaves China: accumulated pension contribution amounts can be withdrawn. Countries with bilateral agreements with China: their citizens are exempt from double contributions.
