📜 The law text / key provisions
The Cybersecurity Review Measures (2022) provide: (1) Scope: applies to critical information infrastructure operators and all operators holding data of more than one million users; (2) Foreign exchange listing: companies intending to list on foreign exchanges need security review if holding data of more than one million users; (3) Acquisitions: acquisitions of Chinese companies by foreigners require review where security concerns exist; (4) Review authority: Cybersecurity Review Office undertakes risk assessment; (5) Penalties: failure to apply for review exposes to fines and legal consequences.
