📜 The law text / key provisions

The E-Commerce Law (2019) requires: (1) e-commerce platforms to verify and register merchant identities; (2) disclose algorithms affecting product ranking; (3) not engage in discriminatory pricing based on consumer behavior analysis; (4) joint liability of platforms for defective products in specific cases. Consumers have the right to return most products within 7 days without giving reasons. Major platforms (Taobao, JD, Pinduoduo) publish annual legal compliance reports.
