The Civil Procedure Law (2023 Amendment) provides: (1) Jurisdiction: determination of competent court by subject matter and amount; (2) Electronic procedures: acceptance of online case filing and hearings; (3) International jurisdiction: Chinese courts may hear cases involving foreigners under specific conditions; (4) Enforcement of foreign judgments: China recognizes foreign judgments under treaties or reciprocity; (5) Simplified procedures: small disputes up to RMB 200,000 subject to fast-track simplified procedures.
