Under Article 55 of the Consumer Rights Protection Law (2013): (1) If a seller sells counterfeit or fraudulent goods, the consumer has the right to claim compensation of 3 times the purchase price or 500 CNY minimum; (2) For products that cause health damage, compensation rises to 10 times the price. Complaint stages: (a) file a complaint on the e-commerce platform (Taobao, JD); (b) notify the Market Supervision Administration (12315); (c) file a civil lawsuit. The buyer is not entitled to compensation if they knew about the fraud at time of purchase. Shopping tourism and markets: always check the receipt and product photos.
