Founded in 1939 as the Xikang health station, renamed several times (Xikang Provincial Xichang Prefectural Hospital, then Sichuan Xichang Prefecture People's Hospital), and became today's 'Liangshan Prefecture First People's Hospital' in 1979; Xichang Railway Hospital was merged in in 2005.
