Wenchang

Wenchang is a county-level city on the northeastern tip of Hainan Island, home to the Wenchang Space Launch Site, China's newest and only coastal spaceport, from which the country's heavy-lift Long March rockets and lunar and Mars missions have launched. It is the origin of the famous Wenchang chicken, one of Hainan's 'four great dishes', and a renowned hometown of overseas Chinese with strong ties across Southeast Asia. Coconut groves line its warm coasts. For an international student, Wenchang offers a front-row seat to China's space program, tropical beaches and distinctive Hainanese cuisine.
