Tangshan
Tangshan is a major industrial and coal-mining city in eastern Hebei, rebuilt after the devastating 1976 earthquake into a modern city with the large Nanhu ecological park on former mining land. It has a temperate monsoon climate. High-speed rail and an airport connect it to Beijing and the coast. For an international student, Tangshan offers a story of resilience, heavy-industry heritage, and easy access to the capital region.
