Puyang
Puyang is a prefecture-level city in the far north of Henan, at the point where Henan, Shandong and Hebei meet near the old course of the Yellow River. Archaeologists here unearthed a 6,000-year-old shell mosaic of a dragon — among the earliest dragon images ever found — earning Puyang the title 'Hometown of the Chinese Dragon'. Once the ancient state of Wey, the city keeps historic ruins and city walls, and modern Puyang is a petroleum hub built around the Zhongyuan oilfield and a noted centre for acrobatics. For an international student, Puyang offers deep origins-of-Chinese-civilisation heritage, folk acrobatic arts and an authentic North China Plain setting.
