Linfen

Linfen is a historic city in southern Shanxi on the Fen River, regarded as one of the cradles of Chinese civilization and traditionally linked to the legendary Emperor Yao. Its economy has long centred on coal, coking, iron and steel, and it lies in the heart of a major energy-producing region while also cultivating wheat and cotton. Nearby lies the thundering Hukou Waterfall, the largest yellow waterfall on the Yellow River, along with the Yao Temple and the Great Locust Tree ancestral site at Hongtong.
