Fangchenggang
Fangchenggang is a border and port city in southwestern Guangxi on the Gulf of Tonkin, and one of China's main gateways to Vietnam by land and sea. Its deep-water harbor handles heavy cargo, while the town of Dongxing faces the Vietnamese city of Mong Cai across a small river, giving the area a lively cross-border trade and mixed cuisine. The Jiangshan Peninsula and Bailong Bay offer beaches and mangroves, and the inland Shiwandashan mountains are cloaked in subtropical forest. Home to Jing (Gin) and Zhuang minority communities and a warm, very humid climate, it blends seaside, mountains and frontier culture.
