Yin Tongyue
Born in Chaohu, Anhui in 1962, Yin Tongyue previously worked at FAW and helped set up its Volkswagen joint venture before joining Chery at its founding in 1997, becoming chairman in 2004. He has led Chery to become China's largest car exporter for over two decades and oversaw its 2025 Hong Kong stock listing.

Founded in 1997 in Wuhu, Anhui with local government backing, Chery became the first Chinese automaker to export in large volumes and has remained China's top car exporter for over two decades. The group today spans multiple brands: mainline Chery, premium Exeed, family-oriented Jetour, export-focused Omoda and Jaecoo, and youth-oriented EV brand iCAR. It set a sales record in 2024 with over 2.6 million vehicles sold, and completed its Hong Kong IPO in September 2025 at a valuation exceeding US$20 billion.
