📖 About the company
BAIC's roots trace to 1958, but the modern "Beijing" brand as it exists today was relaunched in 2020 as BAIC Motor's main passenger-car marque, after the earlier Senova brand was discontinued and its models renamed under the unified BEIJING badge. Beijing's petrol and plug-in hybrid vehicles are operated by BAIC Motor, while its full-EV versions sit under the BAIC BluePark arm (the same division that runs the separate Arcfox brand). Beijing positions itself as a mid-priced crossover and sedan brand, distinct from the premium-EV Arcfox and the more specialised BJ off-road brand, but it faces stiff competition from faster-growing newer Chinese marques in its segment.
